Growth

I started exploring the concept of "self-improvement" about 10 years ago. Some things worked, some didn't. Some concepts stayed hidden in my subconscious but still helped. A lot of my growth can be attributed to compounding efforts over time. However, it got to a point where I was consuming more than I was actually creating the life I wanted to live. It felt good and productive to live solely in the "learning and planning" phase because it was safe. I was trying to learn my way into action. These concepts are helpful as a framework and foundation, but they're nearly worthless without action.

I've read dozens of self-improvement books and consumed hundreds of hours of content from the gurus on YouTube. Now, my goal is to distill down what has worked for me over the years as well as tactical advice for going from indecisive analysis paralysis, to action. Queue: this blog.

“The Man in the Arena”
President Theodore Roosevelt delivered his “Citizens of the Republic” speech on April 23, 1910 following his 2 terms in office from 1901-1909 amid frustrations with the Taft administration following him. Even though Taft was a handpicked successor, Roosevelt felt as though Taft had betrayed the progressive policies and ideals he
What is Parkinson’s Law and how can you overcome it?
We’ve all been there. The essay is due tomorrow, but we had weeks to work on it. An item on the to-do list sits there with no defined timeline when it could be done in less than 30 minutes. Parkinson’s Law is a concept from naval historian Cyril
How I got started and created momentum
“...I’ve read 20 self-improvement books. I think I feel better, but what now? How do I put all of this into action and actually make these improvements?” If you’re anything like I was about a year ago, this may be what’s going through your mind right now
